
A State of Emergency is hereby declared in the Village of Millerton, effective at 4:00 p.m. on February 3, 2026.
The State of Emergency has been declared due to a fire at the Village Highway Garage which has damaged the Village’s water supply infrastructure and highway equipment.
Such conditions threaten the public safety of the citizens and residents of the Village of Millerton.
This State of Emergency will remain in effect for thirty (30) days or until rescinded by the Village Mayor.
As the Chief Executive of the Village of Millerton, Dutchess County, State of New York, I, Jenn Najdek, exercise the authority given me under Section 24 of the New York State Executive Law, to preserve the public safety and hereby render all required and available assistance vital to the security, well-being, and health of the citizens and residents of the Village of Millerton.
I hereby direct all departments and agencies of the Village of Millerton to take whatever steps necessary to protect life and property, public infrastructure, and provide such emergency assistance deemed necessary.

Jenn Najdek, MayorThe Village of Millerton seeks an energetic, motivated individual to fill our part-time Municipal Bookkeeper position (15-20 hours a week). The Village has several infrastructure projects in the works and is an exciting active workplace. Pay $25-$35 per hour based on experience.
Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft software, including Outlook, Excel, and Office, and be able to navigate multiple software applications, including KVS or similar accounting software.
Demonstrated commitment to detail, accuracy, and discretion is a prerequisite. Preference will be given to candidates with 3 years’ bookkeeping and municipal government financial experience. Applicants must be residents of Dutchess County, New York.

In accordance with the provisions of § 151-13 of the Village of Millerton Code, All-night parking is prohibited on all streets within the Village between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., beginning December 10, 2025 and ending April 10, 2026, except for the following streets: Century Boulevard. Violators will be towed at the owner’s expense

Elm Avenue, Millerton, New York 12546, on February 23, 2026, at 6:20 p.m., prevailing time on Proposed Local Law No. X of 2026, entitled “A Local Law To Establish A New Chapter 147 Of The Code Of The Village Of Millerton, Entitled ‘Tree Commission”.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that copies of the aforesaid proposed local law will be available for examination at the Village of Millerton Village Hall, 5933 N. Elm Avenue, Millerton, New York, during normal business hours on all business days between the date of this notice and the date of the public hearing.
