The Village of Millerton and the Town of North East will be performing soil probes as part of the ongoing Wastewater Project. Soil probes are used to understand the type of soil and extent of rock in the area. Information obtained during the soil probes will be used by the engineer for the final design of the sewer collection system.
The soil probes are being conducted by the Wastewater Committee, the Village’s engineering consultant (Tighe & Bond), and their subcontractor, Core Down Drilling. The soil probes will begin on September 26 and continue through October 2, 2024.
During this time, residents and motorists may encounter the contractor working along John Street, Century Boulevard, Park Avenue, Central Avenue, South Center Street, Fish Street, and Route 44. The Village of Millerton and Town of North East ask that residents and motorists be mindful of the ongoing work. Traffic control will be provided by the contractor.
If you have any specific questions regarding the soil probes, please contact Briana Youngquest from Tighe & Bond (845-516-5648 or BYoungquest@tighebond.com) or Jeanne Vanecko from the Village Wastewater Committee (617-512-2488 or jeannevanecko@me.com).
