NOTICE OF POSSIBLE LEAD SERVICE LINE MATERIAL
New state and federal laws require us to inventory all water service lines in our service area. A service line is the underground pipe that carries water from the water main, likely in the street, into your home or building. We are required to notify consumers annually if their service line material is lead, galvanized requiring replacement (GRR), or is unknown. GRR is defined as having a galvanized iron or steel service line that is currently or was previously downstream of a lead service line or an unknown service line.
Find out what service line is in your home here: https://nyogslslir.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=3058a02320544c8eb0a976f291806793
- If you believe your service line material is incorrectly categorized, please contact us to assist with material verification (contact information provided below). Please describe service line ownership and material of both portions of the service line, if applicable.
- Water systems are required to replace all system-owned lead service lines. Property owners are encouraged to replace their portion of the service line if it is made of lead or is galvanized requiring replacement. We are required to replace our portion of lead service line when the property owner notifies us they are replacing their portion of lead or galvanized requiring replacement service line. If you are planning to replace your service line, contact us at 518-789-4489 prior to replacement so that we can coordinate our efforts.
