Site Manager, Martha Shultz, at the Dutchess County Office for The Aging Friendship Center, serves a hot, nutritious meal and offers informational, educational and recreational programs.

The Center is for those seniors who would enjoy a nutritious meal combined with social activities and fellowship. The Millerton Friendship Center is open Monday through Thursday. Meal reservations are required. A $4.00 suggested voluntary confidential contribution is requested. Home Delivered Meals, including frozen meals, may be arranged through the Office for the Aging at (845) 486-2555 or toll free at (866) 486-2555. A listing of other home delivered food options is also available.
Food pantry delivery service is available: Participants can receive delivered groceries (fresh local produce, dry goods, meat, and dairy) twice a month on Thursdays. This service is intended for the elderly, disabled, and otherwise homebound, but is available to anyone who is unable to attend normal on-site pantry hours of Weds 3-6pm and Thurs 10am-1pm. Interested parties can call 518-789-4259 ext. 124 to enroll and should call at the beginning of every calendar month to confirm their continuing need.

Transportation is available: The North East Community Center provides transportation services for residents of North East, Millerton, Pine Plains, Stanford, Stanfordville, Washington, Millbrook, Amenia, Dover Plains, Wingdale, and Wassaic via the Transportation Program. They also coordinate the Northeast Transportation Program which can additionally assist residents of Pine Plains, Stanford and Washington (518)789-4259 ext. 108. Priority goes to medical appointments but the service can also be used for grocery trips, senior socialization (such as the Friendship Center), pharmacy pickups, bank trips, and other personal errands.
